Welcome!

Welcome! And thank for you following me on my journey of all things DIY!

A little about myself!

My name is Lauren and people close to me call me Lo (hence the name-and I also like to do things without breaking the bank). I live in a house on the water with my husband Rob and our dogs Marty and Leila in Discovery Bay, California. Born and raised in the SF Bay Area I have always been interested in design and DIY since I was young. It may be that I watched my dad and mom work on our house all the time growing up. I rarely, and when I say rarely I mean not even a handful of times, remember a handyman being at my childhood home to fix something. It was always my father and I was usually by his side and he was showing my brother and I how to fix things or build things. Just thinking about it while writing this, I would say it is safe to say I owe a lot to my father for getting me inspired in DIY. Remodeled bathrooms, laying tiles, remodeling their kitchen, laying hardwood floors, building fences, laying pavers, the list goes on.

So now for me unless it is absolutely necessary to call someone, I do it myself. There are so many amazing feelings I get with DIY. I love the sense of accomplishment, looking back at what you have done even if during the process it involves blood, sweat and tears. I’m not going to show you before and after’s, because that is not real life. Its about the in between, the struggles along the way and celebrating the final product.

You did not have to grow up around DIY or have some special gift to do it. It may take a few tools and some motivation, but you can do it too! I will help motivate your DIY dreams and be here along the way to give some tips and tricks. (My dad also will help.-I still call him for advice or in a panic when I’m stuck.-There is no shame in asking for help!)

So, who is ready to get their hands dirty to make their home a beautiful place?! Even if I haven’t quite hooked you yet please follow along so I can help motivate you so you can reach your DIY dreams as well!
